It has been our pleasure to welcome Rabbi Karen Becker-Marcelo into the our family at The Atrium. When our long time rabbi retired I was wondering where I'd be able to find someone that has warmth compassion for the Elderly, and also deep knowledge of religion. Into our lives walked Rabbi Karen. A smile that can light up a room and deep faith. She took over and I can barely remember a time when she hasn’t been with us. The transition has been so seamless that I cant believe its only been a few scant months since she came along. She does our weekly Shabbat service as well as any other services we need. The residents love her and respect her. We will do our annual Bat Mitzvah with Rabbi Karen at the helm and are all looking forward to it. The Atrium welcomes her and are grateful to have her in our lives.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the beautiful and touching ceremony you presided over for my great-grandaughter, Becca Rose Michaels, at her baby naming.
It was such a special time for all of us and you made it even more special. by the prayers that were given to each and every one of the immediate family.
You are certainly an asset to the rabbinical society."

"When my family came to Florida this past March to see me in "The Gershwin Show" & to spend an additional few weeks away from the cold northeast, little did any one of us expect that my sister-in-law, due to an unfortunate accident, would end up in the hospital on life support. During this incredibly difficult time, Rabbi Karen came to the hospital daily to offer prayer & to provide words of hope & comfort to the family. Once Linda passed, Rabbi Karen continued to visit us in my home, again with prayer & beautiful words of comfort. She assisted with final arrangements & shiva & offered to be available for us at any time. It was truly special to have our very own Rabbi Karen throughout this most difficult time."

"With history being her field of expertise..I asked Rabbi Karen to teach my Adult Ed Bar/Bat Mitzvah class. She gave 3 lessons in Jewish history. Rabbi Karen engaged my students, connecting with them and peaking their interest."

On January 1, 2018, I would be 80 years old. When Rabbi Karen began her rabbinic studies, I brought the idea to her of my becoming a Bat Mitzvah. She created a service that included my family and friends, and tailored it to my ability and needs. We studied together and it was an amazing experience.
